5Love the FIRM!!May 11, 2008
I am an experienced FIRMer. This newer system is great! I love the variability of the steps. Its a fantastic workout. If you've never done any step workouts before you might find it a little intimidating at first. It may take a few tries to get comfortable with the moves....but when you do its fun and challenging. The FIRM is fantastic for their combination of low-impact aerobics, step and light weights that you can do in the comfort of your own home. It WILL change your body!

5Love the transfirmer!Apr 24, 2008
I really love this workout set from the Firm. I think the transfirmer is a very creative and effective step system. I love the incline position and can do lunges better and easier using the transfirmer. It also makes the cardio step segments a little differnt and more interesting than just using a step in the regular position. I like how each workout included with this set is differnt ranging from a scultping workout at about 30 minutes, to a mostly cardio workout with very little light weights at about 45 minutes, and then a total body workout with cardio and weights at about 50 minutes. I truely love the Firm and it has been the thing that got me exercising and kept me sticking with it. I find the Firm fun, motivating, and efficient. I am however a bit disappointed in the newer Firms that have come out and don't find them challenging enough especially compared with this transfirmer system, the fanny lifter systems as well as the tough 90's Firm workouts. I am converting over to Cathe for more of a challenge and have the Firm to thank for getting me to place where I can attempt her workouts. Cathe has some of the funnest step routines I have ever seen and the best workout music I have ever heard (I have done a lot of research). However, I know that I will still use the firm for lighter workout days or just to have a change of pace because I love the Firm. Get this system- I don't think you will be disappointed!

5The best workout ever!Apr 03, 2008
I love the firm. I had the "fanny lifter" before I purchased this series. What I love about the firm is the cardio/weights combo. It gives you a great cardio workout while firming and toning muscles. This is the most effective method of exercise out there! I have been working out at home with exercise dvd's for about 7 years now (so I've done a lot of them) and The firm is by far my absolute favorite. Definite results!

4Good Workout but takes pratice to figure out the footworkMar 27, 2008
I've had it for a few months now and I gotta say it gives you a pretty good workout (website says you burn 300-400 calories per workout) but learning the steps and the up and down and the "change tranfirmer from this to that" is quite annoying. I see the women in the tapes and my 7 year old and I joke that we won't want me to end up looking THAT muscular but all in all I'd say its not a bad investment. Prevention 3-2-1 is also another good workout, it lets you customize your work out to the specific part you wanna work. Both are worth a try. Please note that when using them stacked it will put considerable pressure on your knees (especially if you are not at your "ideal weight"). I still don't know if it will truely give me the results it claims (haven't gotten to the 10 workouts yet).

5Love it Love it Love it..... but.....Mar 06, 2008
I've had the Transfirmer for about two months now so I figure I'll give my input. First of all, I actually look forward to working out. The Supercharged Sculpting and the Aerobic Body Shaping DVDs are awesome. I tried the Ultimate Calorie Blaster, but did not like it and found it hard to follow. I am going to give it another try though, just in case.

Okay, a few minor cons:
After a couple of weeks, my knees started to ache. I was confused since I was very careful to make sure my knees stayed behind my "toebox". Well, this month's issue of Shape magazine pinpointed my problem. I am only 5'1" and the Firm's "signature moves" used the Transfirmer at the full 14" step, which put a tremendous amount of strain on my knees. The past week and a half I just removed the 6" step and use the 8" step. I think my knees have recovered and for some reason I now work up a better sweat.

I think the only other issue is that the instructors are extremely quick in changing positions and going into the next segment. I have two of the DVDs practically memorized and I am still not able to keep up with setting up between segments. Not that big of a deal, though, since I either just pause or rewind when they get ahead of me. Also, it would be nice if they had used DVD technology to make chapters, but again, not that big of a deal.

Most of the reviews on exercise videos never really say how tall a person is, how much they weigh or how much they've lost, which to me is important to get an accurate review of the product. I am 5'1". Six weeks ago I started at 149 lbs and today I am six lbs lighter. I have been using the Transfirmer DVDs (minus the Ultimate Calorie Blaster) and using the Weight Watchers program for the last six weeks as well. I've only lost 1/2" in my waist, but it seems that this week (after six weeks) I am finally starting to notice the results. I'm not sure about the Firm's "Visible Results in 10 Workouts Guarantee", since I more than doubled that before seeing results, but at least I know it is working! Oh, and it comes with a three week meal plan. I am not following it, since I am on WW, but I'm sure it would speed up the losing weight/getting fit process!
