About Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

4Schwinn 112 - practical reviewFeb 17, 2008
I just got my Schwinn 112, put it together this morning, and had my first ride on it. Some of the concerns I had read from other reviews included the faulty parts. My box, like those of others, came with a few holes in the outer crate and the bike was not all that well protected inside. However, only one tiny accessory piece (not critical to the function of the bike) was broken. The assembly was easy and took about 1/2 hour. The bike is sturdy and sleek looking. Don't stand on the base of the bike to get on and off (it won't hold much weight). The bike is pretty comfortable with a smooth ride and the resistance is appropriate for beginners to advanced, stronger riders. Overall, I like it.

4Great bike, apart from the seatFeb 08, 2008
I wanted a quality bike, small enough to fit in the limited space I had. The Schwinn 112 fit the bill very well. It took me about an hour to assemble - the instructions were clear and all tools included. The bike works well and I am happy with it. The only problem is that the seat is a little uncomfortable but I think that is likely an issue with any bike.

5Excellent bikeJan 19, 2008
It comes mostly preassembled, easy to put together. This thing is very solid, big metal, big screws,... Very quiet operation, which was important - we had one of those fan things before - way too noisy. plenty of work-out features accessible via the control panel (enough for me, anyways). Plenty of adjustments for seat and handle. I also had a question for the mfr once, sent it out by email and got my answer by email in a day or two. Had the bike for a few months, I would recommend it.

2Defective PartDec 08, 2007
Like others who wrote reviews, we received this item with a damaged part. The black protective covering that goes over the silver bar that is the base of the bike, was cracked. I just left a message with customer service, and made it clear that I wanted replacement without cost. My fingers are crossed that works out! Anyway, the bike itself seems fine we just set it up, and I like the low noise factor and size is small and portable.

5Great exercise cycle!Dec 03, 2007
I've ridden 3000 miles on this cycle during the past 7 months. It works just as well as when I first assembled it. It is a solid, smooth-operating cycle, with a decent variety of progams. It doesn't have the larger variety of riding programs as newer models, but it would be hard to beat what you get for the price here. I highly recommend this cycle.
