The 540r--which offers a weight capacity of 275 pounds--measures 24.4 by 41.3 by 59.1 inches (W x H x D) and carries a one-year warranty.

About Recumbent Exercise Bikes
Despite the competition from trendy new fitness inventions, exercise bikes continue to be popular options for home exercise. They offer the same aerobic benefits of riding a bicycle at any time, in any weather, without leaving the comfort and safety of home. Exercise bikes don't take up much space, require little or no balance or coordination, and can provide an effective workout for all levels of users, from beginners to serious competitors. While the same could be said for a number of other types of home fitness equipment, the exercise bike is one of the few that allows you to watch television or read a magazine while you work out.

The term recumbent literally means "lying down." Exercising in a recumbent or reclining position allows the user to have full ergonomic back support, without causing strain on the arms, neck and shoulders, all of which can be common effects of using an upright bicycle. For many people, having convenient access to quality exercise equipment is critical to sticking with a long-term exercise program.

This recumbent bike over exceeded my expectations. High quality, quiet operation, digital is very informative, seat is high quality, and easy to install.

Very high quality for what you pay for the bike.

Highly recommended.

4HealthTrainer 540R Recumbent Exercise BikeJun 06, 2008
Hi everyone. I bought this bike for my elderly mother who had broken her hip maybe 10 years ago and was not getting very much exercise. She needed a bike with comfortable seat that had a back. The bike needed to be stable and not apt to tip over. The pedal resistance for her needed to be very easy but which could be made slightly harder to challenge her. As she is rather short, the seat needed to be adjustable such that the shortest setting was sufficiently close to the pedals. These were basically my criteria. Oh, one more I did not want to spent more than $300.00. This bicycle basically met all of my criteria. The only criteria of concern was the adjustable seat. At the shortest seat setting, her feet just barely can pedal comfortably. My mother is probably only about 5 feet tall or maybe slightly under and for her height, the shortest seat setting just barely makes it. The bike is really made for larger people but overall I am very happy with the purchase, delivery time, and Amazon's service.

Ordered the HealthTrainer 540R recumbent exercise bike on May 28th and received on June 3rd....Took about 1 hour to setup which was quite easy and started using it...Very happy with it. Had quadruple by-pass 10 weeks ago and was told by Cardiologist this is one of the good ways to exercise. I have bought many items via [...] and very happy with the service and delivery I recieve. This is a great exercise bike! It's quiet and a great deal for what you get. The only down side is the assembly, but I haven't ever done it before so I needed help.

The bike I purchased came just a few days early, which was nice. When it arrived the seat had a small tear on it. The company replaced the seat in less than 10 days. I got very good service all the way around. The bike is excellent. It is very easy to assemble and easy to exercise on. The price was also great. Thank you. Purchase one and you will also enjoy getting fit, strengthening your leg muscles and even burning calories all in the comforts of your own home.
