casio g shock watchApr 19, 2008 I had one from 1990 to 2005 and never changed the battery. Its worth twice the money. I hope this one gives the same kind of service.

Same great G-ShockApr 18, 2008 This is the same great Casio watch that we've bought for years, but at almost half the price as in retail stores. It's basic, yet it has everything the average person needs and the display is easy to read. If it's like the other two G-Shocks we've owned over the last 17 years, it will last a long time.
Just bought my 3rd G-SHOCK since 1984Mar 25, 2008
Put it this way,..
The Casio G-Shock never leaves my wrist. I really don't bother taking it off.
A few times a year I wear a stainless watch, maybe 10 times total.
Other than that, I'v had a G-Shock on my wrist since 1984.
Great watch,....SOLID INVESTMENT!
Good Utility WatchMar 24, 2008 I've bought a number of these watches over the years and have found them to be a good functional and sturdy watch. The style and size is masculine. The life span of the watch band is around 2 years. The battery will last between 4-5 years. The watch itself with normal wear and tear around 8 years. I will continue to buy and wear this watch as long as Casio makes them.

Unbelievably DurableMar 23, 2008 I bought one of the early G-Shocks in the 1980's... and it lasted through 2006 -- over 20 years. The plastic outer case finally started to deteriorate... and oh yeah I tore or lost the strap retaining loop about 10 years ago (no big deal just put on a tie wrap and kept on wearing the watch).
To put this in context, I use my sport watches for sailing, boating, diving and snorkeling (usually in salt water) ...and most other watches have lasted only 2-3 years. The amazing thing is that I never replaced the battery on this original Casio G-Shock -- it just kept working until the casing finally went.
Only slight disadvantage for sailing races it that it doesn't have a synch feature for interim starting signals. But other than that all the functionality that you really use is there *and* you don't have to read the instruction manual to figure out the watch... user interface and buttons are straightforward and obvious.
Classic bulletproof sport watch -- highly recommended. I'm searching for a yellow one just like my old one, and will buy it immediately if/when I find it (may have to settle for black though).
One other thing -- I'm a lefty and unlike other watches, on the Casio G I never had a problem with accidentally tripping the buttons -- as is common when you wear a watch on your right wrist (reaching up and back with your hand can press the watch buttons against your upper arm and on some watches this causes a button-press).
