About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

4Nice choiceApr 21, 2008
After much review of many makers and models I decided on this unit. It's only been two weeks, but so far I'm very satsified. The item came packaged very well and it was a breeze to assemble. I thought about getting the next largest model thinking I could grow into it from an activity standpoint. I'm glad I didn't; this one is more than I need and will suit me fine for a long time.

5happy with my treadmillApr 10, 2008
This treadmill is great. As everyone says, it is heavy but I figure if it's going to last, it has to be. It is quite & sturdy & smooth. I am not a runner (and space is somewhat limited) so I didn't think I needed the longer treadmill, however if your stride is short as mine, I think it'll work out great for running also. I like the covered bottom of the treadmill. I have pets and I feel safe that they can't get into harms way by getting in between the rollers. I really do like this treadmill. I am happy I got it.

5BOWFLEX JUST LIKE THE ONES IN GOLD'S OR BALLY'S GYM...Mar 08, 2008
Bowflex Series 3 Treadmill

For the price, it's outstanding. I based my decision off the already listed reviews for this item (THANK YOU AMAZON FELLOW CUSTOMERS) and the lady who said it was delivered to your threshold and that's it. That's right in the doorway. I followed the advise exact. I opened the box. First you take up the two smaller pieces and all the plastic hand guards and end pieces. Then the one thing I did differently is when it came to the base (which is the piece that weighs about 200 lbs), I enlisted the help of three other people (so two on each side) and it was very easy. So you don't need to hire any moving company or installation crew if you have some friends to help you on delivery day.

The rest of the set up was very easy (by following the instruction book). Total time was no more than 45 minutes as long as you have no issues like the one I mention at the end of this paragraph. Now there is one small thing that was confusing, it calls for 22 one of type of screw and your package only has 18. The instructions must be made for setting up the BOWFLEX 5 or 7 treadmill because all of the screws worked out perfectly. I was not short any screws. So no need to panic when you read the instructions and see the screw count doesn't match. OH AND DON'T REMOVE THE WIRE/STRING THAT IS CLIPPED INSIDE LEFT BAR. THE WIRE IS TO HELP YOU PULL/GUIDE THE WIRE CONNECTION to the console/control. I TOOK IT OFF IN THE BEGINNING AND I SPENT PROBABLY 30 MINUTES TRYING TO PUT IT BACK IN!

One last note, the handrails on this treadmill are shorter than what you would find at the commercial ones in the gym. THAT is the only downside, not a big deal for me but something you may want to consider if you are someone who likes to hang on to the rail while you walk or run.

5Great machineFeb 13, 2008
I was in the market for a while. Decided on this after reading few reviews. It was pretty much everything I expected, no surprises. Thanks to all who shared their opinion. Great machine, quiet, sturdy, easy to assemble (2 person recommended), easy to read dash, fair price, nice warranty, excellent for beginners/intermediates and weighs a ton. That probably sums it up.

5Bowflex series 3 treadmillJan 05, 2008
I purchased my treadmill at the urging of my doctor. The series 5 was recommended by Consumer Reports but that treadmill was considerably costlier than the series 3. Having never owned a treadmill in the past, I thought I'd try the series 3. It's a great machine! I have no regrets. At the time, Amazon was also offering free shipping....a definite bonus!
